El Grito/ The Scream
«El grito», la pieza más icónica de Edvard Munch será prestada al MoMA y se mostrará públicamente por primera vez en Nueva York del 24 de octubre de 2012 hasta el 29 de abril 2013!
El grito (en noruego Skrik), es el nombre de 4 cuadros pintados por el pintor noruego Edvard Munch.Todas las versiones del cuadro muestran una figura andrógina en primer plano, que simboliza a un hombre moderno en un momento de profunda angustia y desesperación existencial. El paisaje del fondo representa Oslo visto desde la colina de Ekeberg.
El grito está considerado como una de las más importantes obras del artista y del movimiento expresionista, constituyendo una imagen de icono cultural, semejante al de la Gioconda de Leonardo da Vinci.
Abundan los colores cálidos en el fondo, la luz es semioscura y la figura principal es una persona en un sendero con vallas que se pierden de vista fuera de la escena. Esta figura está gritando, con una expresión de desesperación. En el fondo, casi fuera de escena, se aprecian dos figuras con sombrero que no se pueden distinguir con claridad. El cielo parece fluido y arremolinado, igual que el resto del fondo.

Edvard Munch’s iconic work «The Scream» will be loaned to MoMA and shown publicly for the first time in New York from October 24, 2012 through April 29, 2013!
The Scream (Norwegian Skrik), is the name of four paintings by Norwegian artist Edvard Munch. All the versions of the painting show an androgynous figure in the foreground, symbolizing a man in a moment of deep existential anguishs and despair . The background landscape represents Oslo seen from the hill of Ekeberg.
The Scream is considered one of the most important works of the artist and the expressionist movement, being a cultural icon image, similar to the Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci.
Warm colors abound in the background, the semi-dark and light is the main figure is a person on track with hurdles that we lose sight of the scene outside. This figure is screaming, with an expression of despair. In the background, almost out of the picture, shows two figures with hat can not be distinguished clearly. The sky seems fluid and swirling, like the rest of the background.
