Cristóbal Rey se presentó al Fondart chileno (Premio Nacional de Artes) en 2005, 2006, 2010 y 2011.
Lleno de tonos rítmicos y melódicos del Sur, esta composición es pura estética instrumental. Como reflejo del mosaico musical actual en América del Sur, Cristobal camina por la delgada línea que hay entre negar o abrazar la vida moderna, y su música fluye desde el jazz y la música popular en tono sinfónico, como heredero de quinientos años para reinventar las Américas.

Cristóbal Rey was presented the Chilean Fondart (national arts award) in 2005, 2006, 2010 and 2011.
Bursting with rhythmic and melodic tones from the South, this composition is aesthetically instrumental. Reflecting today’s mosaic in South America, it walks the fine line between embracing and denying modern living, flowing from jazz and folk music in symphonic shades, heir to five hundred years of reinventing Our Americas.
His work has been staged in Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Perú and New York where the composer is living at the moment, He is performing in europe in June and July 2012.
Cristobal Rey now lives in NYC. Here I am offering you just a glimpse of his work. I will show you some more in future posts, and these will definately surprise you. We will also try to bring him here soon…
