Dentro del Hotel Marqués de Riscal, en Elciego, se encuentra uno de los exclusivos Spas de Claudalíe. Este Spa anclado entre los viñedos es un emblema de la filosofía Claudalíe. Empresa establecida en 1999 por Mathilde Thomas en Châteaux Smith Haut Lafitte, a raíz de un encuentro con el profesor Vercauteren en 1993. Durante la vendimia de ese año, el profesor le descubrió la increíble capacidad antioxidante de los polifenoles de la vid y de uva. Mathilde funda Claudalíe junto a su marido Bertrand Thomas, en 1995 y desde entonces dirigen esta empresa con la misma dedicación y pasión de los comienzos.
El nombre Claudalíe proviene de un término enológico. Unidad de medida de la duración de persistencia en boca de los aromas del vino después de su degustación. un segundo de persistencia equivale a una caudalie. Cuanto mayor es la calidad del vino, mas cantidad de caudalies tiene.
En esta empresa hace ya más de 15 años que se invierte en investigación con la colaboración del profesor Vercauteren y un equipo de investigadores y formuladores en sus laboratorios propios de Saint-Jean de Braye y Montpellier. Eso les ha permitido registrar varias patentes. Claudialíe encuentra en la vid una riqueza inagotable y su fuente de inspiración para extraer de ella muchas sustancias exclusivas y activas como el Agua de uva biológica.
Claudalíe se encuentra ubicada en plena Rioja Alavesa. Aquí, además de vivir el vino a través de todos los sentidos, se puede disfrutar de un importante patrimonio cultural, natural, arqueológico y artístico íntimamente ligado a la cultura vinícola. Más de 100 establecimientos (bodegas , museos, alojamientos, restaurantes, enotecas), se han unido para crear la ruta del vino de la Rioja Alavesa. De todas ellas, me gustaría resaltar en primer lugar la Ciudad del Vino Marqués de Riscal.
Esta mañana visité las instalaciones Caudalié ubicadas dentro del icónico Hotel Marqués de Riscal (Luxury Collection Hotel). Este espectacular Hotel diseñado por el arquitecto Frank Gehry (merece un capítulo aparte).
Al llegar a las instalaciones del SPA Caudalíe, me recibió Araceli Reche, (gerente del SPA). Tras rellenar un formulario y explicarme los distintos productos me hizo pasar a cabina con Mónica García. Cuentan con todo tipo de productos basados en Polifenoles de la uva, Reservatrol de la vid, Viniferina de savia de vid, agua de uva biológica, aceite de uva y Vinolevure. De entre los distintos productos, me gustaría señalaros 4: el aceite de Argán, el sérum reafirmante, el fluido de día con índice de protección 15 y la crema de noche, ( todo ello de Vinexpert).
En Caudalíe, se le da mucha importancia al uso de activos naturales y se trabaja con criterio medioambiental.
En este SPA, realizan todo tipo de tratamientos tanto faciales como corporales: baños burbujeantes enriquecidos con orujo de uva, baños de hidromasaje con extractos de vid roja, envolturas y tratamientos exfoliantes, drenantes, relajantes, hidratantes, adelgazantes, reafirmantes, rejuvenecedores, nutritivos, purificantes, etc… Rituales basados en productos naturales alrededor del mundo del vino. Masajes con aceite caliente de pepitas de uva, con vino Riscal, con pulpa de uva, etc…
Caudalíe cuenta con otras instalaciones en Burdeos, Versalles y Nueva York. A partir de 2006 se estableció en Elciego, en el Hotel Marqués de Riscal. En este Spa se unen a la experiencia Caudalíe, el lujo contemporáneo de un hotel singular y la tranquilidad de la Rioja Alavesa. Una experiencia muy recomendable.

This exclusive Claudalíe Spa is located within the Hotel Marqués de Riscal, at Elciego. This Spa, anchored among vineyards is an emblem of Claudalie’s philosophy. This morning I visited Claudalíe facilities located within the iconic Marqués de Riscal Hotel (Luxury Collection Hotel). This spectacular hotel, designed by architect Frank Gehry (deserves a separate chapter).
At Caudalie Spa facilities, I was introduced manager to Araceli Reche (SPA). After filling out a form and looking at the different products they offered, I was led to a cab with Monica Garcia. They have all kinds of products based on grape polyphenols, Reservatrol of the vine, vine sap viniferin, biological grape water, grape-seed oil and Vinolevure. Among the different products, I would point out 4: Argan oil, the firming serum, a day fluid (protection index 15), and night cream (all in Vinexpert).
In Caudalíe, much importance is given to the use of natural assets and environmental criteria.
In this SPA, they perform all types of facial and body treatments: whirlpool baths enriched with grape pomace, whirlpool baths with red vine extracts, wraps and scrubs, draining, relaxing, hydrating, slimming, toning, rejuvenating, nutritional, purifying rituals based on natural products around the world of wine. Massage hot oil grapeseed, Riscal wine, grape pulp, etc …
Caudalíe has other facilities in Bordeaux, Versailles and New York. From 2006 it was established in Elciego in the Hotel Marqués de Riscal. This Spa unifies Caudalíe , a contemporary luxury hotel experience, together with the quiet singular atmosphere of the Rioja region. A highly recommended experience.
